Sad Day for the Garden Group

The Garden Group had some bad news yesterday, when Mr Todd told them that some mean person, or persons, had uprooted some of their potato plants and cut off some silver-beet from their gardens. Worse still - The meanies had picked their only lemon from the tree they planted last year!
That was very upsetting because Mrs Bellehewe had said last week that she would make a lemon meringue pie for them with it!!
Please help them protect their garden by keeping an eye out for these mean spirited people..

Thankyou from Mrs Bellehewe, on behalf of 'The Garden Club'

Well done Hannah and the whole class for selling all that chocolate - I'm sure you're sick of chocolate by now, so don't choose Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as your Movie ... haha!!!

Extreme Weather at Sunnynook

Heavy rain attacked our school today. Mrs Bellehewe got really excited and we all dashed to look out of the steam covered window.

The field looked like a muddy as, mud slide.
Mr Christopher came to try and fix the exploding drain, which couldn't cope with the torrential water.

The water started creeping onto the concrete towards the classroom.

The circles around the trees looked like a UFO had landed!

There was a water-slide down the concrete.

The drain looked amazing. It was an exploding fountain.

The rushing water came off the slippery, muddy field creating a waterfall onto the shady area.

Room 5 jotted exciting ideas about the heavy rain into their notebooks.

We don't think the field will be open today!!!

Gardening isn't all about weeding.

This week we have been turning our compost bin.

This is some of the broccoli we planted. Unfortunately it has seeded a bit but the guinea pigs will enjoy it I'm sure.

Sunnynook Gardeners at work

Sunflower seeds are doing well

Tiana and Emily are looking after some very precious babies....baby sunflowers!
They are watering them and caring for them until they are ready to be re-potted.
